Dates are rich in both soluble and insoluble fiber, which promote heavy bowel function and prevent cancer.
They are also a great source of natural sugars.
I use organic dates as the main sweetener in my High Protein/Fiber/Energy snack bar. I could have used the much cheaper sugar alcohols (like erythritol) and artificial sweeteners (like sucralose) found in major brand products but I wouldn’t feed my customers anything that I wouldn’t feed my own family or eat myself. And, when macro-nutrients are in the proper balance, the sugar from organic dates does NOT cause a spike in blood sugar level, contrary to popular belief (which is why that “myth’ has been perpetuated by companies who actually want you to think that these low and no-calorie fake sweeteners are better for your health than sugars from real food!
